PPMLS Announcement
January 27, 2012
In an effort to continually
improve the integrity of the PPMLS data and
searches the RSC Board of Directors has proposed
changes to the Optional Notices and Required
Notices fields.
There has been some
confusion about the definition of foreclosure,
pre-foreclosure, when it starts, etc. A
foreclosure begins when a Notice of Election and
Demand has been recorded with the Public
Trustee, which starts the formal process. Some
may consider "pre-foreclosure" as events leading
up to a formal filing which may or may not
occur. To help clarify and reduce ambiguity the
term “Pre-Foreclosure” will be eliminated and
the term “Foreclosure” will be re-labeled “In
Foreclosure” to reflect the current status. In
summary:
-
The Optional Notices
and Required Notices fields will be combined
into one required field called “Notices”.
-
"Builder Owned" will
be added.
-
The choices "Home
Warranty Available", "Real Estate Owned" and
"Pre-Foreclosure" will be eliminated.
-
A number of choices
will be re-labeled. For example,
"Agent/Owner" will become "Broker Owned" and
"Foreclosure" will become "In Foreclosure".
We do not yet have a
scheduled date for these changes. Another notice
will be posted prior to implementation to help
you to prepare for the change.
