WOW – WHAT A DEAL!
Lock Box and Key Exchange Coming Soon
Prepare Now!
-
We are
currently in year four of a six-year lock box and key system
agreement with Supra.
-
Due to scheduling changes, Supra
has an unexpected opening for a conversion the week of
December 4, 2006.
-
Supra
contacted our CEO, Terry Storm. The RSC Board of Directors
authorized Terry to investigate and negotiate terms of a
possible conversion.
-
Because
Supra is anxious to fill their December opening, Terry was able
to negotiate major concessions.
-
A focus
group of the 25 brokers with the largest number of assigned lock
boxes was conducted on November 6.
-
The
overwhelming consensus of the brokers was that this deal was too
good to pass up!
-
The
agreement has yet to be executed. However, RSC wanted to give
you as much advance notice, given the short time frame, to
prepare for a probable lock box and key exchange the week of
December 4, 2006.
The Deal – In a
Nutshell
-
1 old
(grey) AEII lock box exchanged for 1 new (blue) infra-red iBox.
-
1 old
Display key (that you have now) exchanged for 1 new Display key. (You do not need to
exchange the cradle.)
-
All
exchanged iBoxes and keys will have a warranty until 2012.
-
Infra-red
iBoxes in the field prior to conversion will also have a
warranty until 2012.
-
Monthly
Display Key lease fee will remain at the current $7.50/mo.
-
Two
choices for EKEY (Palm and wireless devices):
-
EKEY Basic –
have choice of 40 compatible user-owned devices. Use device
as key only (no MLS) for only $14.95 (plus tax) per month.
-
EKEY Professional
– have choice of 40 compatible user-owned devices. Use
device as key, and to retrieve limited MLS data. Support
cost is reduced from current $27.88 to $23.95 (plus tax) per
month.
-
You will not be able
to use the clamshell with the iBox. Even if you do not
change devices, you will need to surrender your old eKey
shells and cradles at the exchange.
-
If you are
considering a key upgrade, a Supra sales rep will be in town
on November 28 and 29 to conduct information sessions.
Typically these sessions run at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and
1:00 a.m. Location for the EKey information sessions has
yet to be determined.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What is the
schedule?
As in the past,
you will be assigned, based on your last name, a specific day/time
on December 5, 6, 7, or 8 to come in
and exchange your key and lock boxes. Provisions will be made for
brokers who are out of town or unable to attend scheduled times.
Will the
exchange be held at the PPAR offices?
No. Supra will
conduct the exchange at The Broadmoor at 1 Lake Avenue. (We do not
know the building/room at this time.)
How many AEII
lock boxes may I exchange?
The number of
boxes you may exchange is based upon the AEII inventory count in the
KIM SupraNet system maintained by RSC staff. That is the maximum
number of boxes you may exchange.
What if I have
more AEII boxes in my possession than what is shown on the KIM
SupraNet inventory count?
If you purchased
boxes from another PPAR broker (but you did not complete a
“Lockbox Transfer” form), that lock box will be in
the KIM SupraNet system, but the lock box will still be assigned to
the previous owner. Therefore, you will need to complete the
Lockbox Transfer form, which requires the signature of the previous
owner, and fax it back to RSC at
719-476-8185 no later than Tuesday, November 28, 2006. Upon
receipt of the completed and verified form RSC will transfer the box
from the previous owner’s inventory to your inventory.
What if I
cannot locate the previous lock box owner?
Sorry, unless you
can produce a signed bill of sale that lists the lock boxes by
serial number, and a cancelled check, you will not be able to add
the boxes to your inventory count.
What if I have
AEII boxes that I purchased from a broker in another association?
If that box is not
listed in the KIM SupraNet system inventory, then we can add it
provided it has been “deprogrammed” by the other association. If it
has been deprogrammed by the other association, you may bring it in
to the RSC office no later than November 28,
2006 and we will add it to the KIM SupraNet system.
Can I still put
an old AEII box on a property?
RSC cannot prevent
you from doing this. However, remember that brokers that use a PDA
or wireless device as a key will not be able to open the old AEII
boxes since the clamshell will no longer be in use.
What type of
warranty is there on the new boxes?
At the exchange
you will be trading in an old AEII box that you own, which has no
warranty, for a new iBox leased from Supra and under a full warranty
until 2012. The “lease” cost is included in the monthly support
fees.
If I have an
iBox, do I exchange it?
No. However, it
will be “grandfathered” in and will be under warranty until 2012.
What if I am an
existing eKey (Palm) holder?
If you want to
continue to be an eKey holder, bring in your clamshell and cradle
along with your device. You will be turning in your shell and
cradle and Supra will make sure that you have the updated software
for your device. (Your key# may stay the same.)
Remember, you now
have two eKey choices. You can continue to get MLS, or you can
downgrade to key use only.
I am an
existing eKey holder, but I want to downgrade to a Display Key.
Those downgrades
should be done at PPAR prior to the conversion. Supra staff cannot
do the downgrades from eKey to Display key.
NOTE – THIS IS JUST THE
PRELIMINARY INFORMATION TO HELP YOU PREPARE FOR THE EXCHANGE. WE
ARE STILL GATHERING INFORMATION. WE WILL PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION
IN THE DAYS AHEAD. YOU MAY ALSO RECEIVE OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS
DIRECTLY FROM SUPRA. |
